The Michigan Railroads Association (MRA) reviews all introduced legislation in the House and Senate. Proposed legislation affecting the rail industry is shared with our members. Final industry positions regarding legislation are then communicated to the legislature. We pursue the same activity with appropriate personnel in the state departments and the legislative process.

WHO WE ARE

The Michigan Railroads Association (MRA) is a non-profit trade association that represents the interests of freight railroads operating in Michigan.  MRA members range in size from large Class 1 interstate carriers to smaller regional carriers and shortline railroads.  MRA members account for 95% of all freight rail moved in Michigan.

MRA membership is open to any freight railroad with Michigan operations.  Please contact the MRA office for membership information.

Companies which supply goods or services to the railroad industry are eligible for a non-voting Associate Membership.  Annual dues are $1,000 per year for supplier members.  Please click here to download the MRA Associate Membership Application.  Return a completed form to: [email protected] or to our mailing address.
