About The Michigan Railroads Association

The Michigan Railroads Association (MRA) is a non-profit trade association that represents the interests of freight railroads operating in Michigan. MRA members range in size from large Class I interstate carriers to smaller regional carriers and shortline railroads. MRA members account for over 95% of all freight rail moved in Michigan.

Mission Statement

To represent the interests of and provide public relations support to those in the freight rail industry who operate in Michigan.  To ensure the industry has a voice at all levels of state government in legislative, administrative and judicial matters.  To educate local and state government officials, businesses and members of the public on freight rail issues.  To keep the rail industry informed of all governmental concerns.  And to provide support to those who have an interest in public safety as it relates to the freight rail industry.
